Nicaragua

Dr. Chandrasekhar has participated in three medical/surgical otology missions to Nicaragua under the auspices of Mayflower Medical Outreach. Beginning with only two otolaryngologists (Dr. Chandrasekhar and her father), her mission trips have grown to include residents (otolaryngologists in training), nurses, and anesthesiologists. The work is hard and never-ending, but the satisfaction is enormous.

More Outreach Programs

Dr. Chandrasekhar has donated teaching and surgery sessions in India, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela to help educate the doctors there and provide better care for patients. She’s also a Centurion of the Hearing Health Foundation (formerly Deafness Research Foundation) www.hearinghealthfoundation.org – an organization that is devoted to funding research to restore hearing. The Hear-Here Foundation, formed by a grateful patient of mine, folded into the HHF to enable its mission.
